TENANTS KEEPING THE FIGHT ALIVE

Since last spring, we've been focusing on energies on one major fight: the repeal of vacancy decontrol to save New York's rent regulated housing. If tenants win the repeal of vacancy decontrol, it will be our greatest victory in over 30 years. If we lose, we'll see the erosion of New York State's largest affordable housing system.

The repeal of vacancy decontrol passed the New York State Assembly in February to tenant cheers on the floor. Now, it's in the New York State Senate. We need 32 votes to win. We are doing everything we can to convince the Senators with rent regulation who haven't signed on.
